Henry Reinecke’s cartoon sketch of Captain Georg Mayer under which was inscribed ” Der Pessimist”. Mayer was not famous for his optimism. He was on of the planter reserve officers captured in German Papua New Guinea and was allowed to lodge in the Courthouse without attending roll calls. |
