Description From Source2 cm. (1 unbound vol.), Original held in private ownership. The manuscript describes Turchina Caporale’s experiences in Italy and her decision to come to Australia during the post-war immigration period. The manuscript is dedicated to her father Emilio and written in Italian with the author’s annotations. The manuscript was initially written for the benefit of her family and is entitled “In the name of the father”. Ms. Caporale’s father was a socialist. Her mother had an affair with a fascist who betrayed her father. Her father died in prison. She felt great loyalty to him and hated her mother for betraying him. Many factors in the European situation, including this one, finally persuaded her to come to Australia.
