Description From Source0.25 cm, 1 diary, Photocopy of typescript. Original at Deutsches Auswandererhaus Bremerhaven, Germany. Two typescripts of an anonymous diary of part of a voyage from Hamburg to Sydney, January-April 1882, on the S.S. Sorrento. One typescript is in German and the other in English. The typescript diary is three pages long and has entries for fifteen days of the voyage. It starts at Port Said on 12 February and finishes at Sydney Harbour on 3 April 1882. Apart from commentary on the weather, the diary also briefly describes a stop for coal at the Tochagos Islands, the ship’s arrival at Port Adelaide and then at Sydney Harbour.
