Bound manuscript (25 x 20 cm.) in German entitled “Personliche Erinnerungen an die Southern Cross und an die Kuhnen Ozeanflieger Kingsford-Smith & van Dijk” [Personal memories of the Southern Cross and the Daring Ocean-aviators Kingsford Smith and van Dijk]. An English translation of the manuscript is included in this collection. These memories relate to the flight undertaken by Charles Kingsford-Smith, Evert van Dijk and Saul Smith, in the Fokker F. VIIb-3m Southern Cross from Portmarnock in Ireland across the Atlantic Ocean to New York, in June 1930. |
