| Description From Source | 1 item (19.5 x 12.5 cm.) Single sheet of paper measuring 19.5 x 12.5 cm with a small tear to the upper right edge. Twenty nine lines of text written in ink on both sides in a cursive hand. The letter from François Arago is written on behalf of the Academie des Sciences to Louis de Freycinet regarding the material collected on the L’Uranie expedition. The letter reports on a decision to deposit the material at the Academie under the care of Monsieur Cardot for the perusal of the various specialists working on the long-overdue report on the expedition. It is addressed to the house of Madame Pinon, the mother of Freycinet’s wife Rose. |
