Peter Alsop was a civil engineer who was born and lived in Geelong, Victoria and who worked for the Country Roads Board. The papers in this collection relate to his work interests which were related to sand dunes, their erosion and remediation in Geelong and Western Victoria. There is material relating to soil conservation, sedimentation and the use of marram grass in stabilisation.
