Description From SourceThe FELO records cover a wide range of propaganda operations ‘in the field’ between 1942 and 1945. FELO was also attached to the AIB (as section D – Military Propaganda) in June 1942, but by September became attached to the Australian Services Chiefs of Staff and the senior Dutch officer (operational supervision exercised by Blamey as Commander Allied Land Forces),working with the Political Warfare Division of the Department of External Affairs who controlled FELO’s political activities. In May 1943, FELO came under the exclusive control of Blamey through his Director, Military Intelligence, and was effectively from this time onward a Land Headquarters unit. FELO closed down on 30 October 1945. [5.]
