Description From SourcePrivate letter book, 2 volumes ; 28 cm. Original ms. [v, 1] May 4th 1880 to September 22nd 1881 [v. 2] May 30th 1883 to June 1st 1886. Label pasted to front pastedown in each volume: Sands & McDougall Manufacturing Stationers, Melbourne. On spine: C & A M, manuscript inscription: Private, WJD. Carbon paper copy letter books of personal and business correspondence dated from May 1880-Sept. 1881 and May 1183 to June 1886. Loose correspondence [4 pages] from the Melbourne International Exhibition 1880 dated from May to September 1881, informing Mr Daly, Commissioner for New Caledonia, of service medals that will be presented to him and others that have contributed to the success of the Exhibition. Two letters thanking Mr Daly for donations made to the Public Library, Museums, and National Gallery of Victoria, and to the City of Ballaarat.
