Scope and content Theme: Life of a Farmer. Coronato Calleja, known as Kurnatu, was born on the 3rd of October 1942 at Victoria, Gozo. He had 10 siblings. His father was a full time government employee and a part-time farmer whilst his mother was a housewife. Kurnatu had emigrated to Sydney and Queensland, Australia as a sugarcane worker for more than 5 years. When he came back to Malta he started working at ‘Ta’ Cenc’ until he found a full-time government job and kept farming as a part-time job. Apart from the time he spent in Australia, he used to live in Victoria and Kercem, Gozo. He had a daughter and at the time of the interview he was a pensioner. |
